WHITE HOUSE CENSORS E.P.A. REPORT
Report by the E.P.A. Leaves Out Data on Climate Change
By ANDREW C. REVKIN with KATHARINE Q. SEELYE
The Environmental Protection Agency is preparing to publish a draft report next week on the state of the environment, but after editing by the White House, a long section describing risks from rising global temperatures has been whittled to a few noncommittal paragraphs. LINK
Par for the course for this administration. Well, see you in Waterworld in 50 years.

IRAN WAR SCHEDULED FOR 2004
Special forces 'prepare for Iran attack'
By Robert Fox, Evening Standard
17 June 2003
British and American intelligence and special forces have been put on alert for a conflict with Iran within the next 12 months, as fears grow that Tehran is building a nuclear weapons programme.
Iran has been constructing a nuclear civil power programme for some years. It is due to start generating significant amounts of electricity for the national power grid in two years. LINK
The reason why it is scheduled for next year, as I've said before, is to rebuild our stocks of precision missiles, and to coincide with the election year.

THE BIG LIE: IT'S WORKING (FOR BUSH)
Many believe Iraq had, used weapons
Polls say beliefs, facts in conflict
BY FRANK DAVIES, MIAMI HERALD, email@example.com
WASHINGTON - A third of the American public believes U.S. forces found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, according to a recent poll. And 22 percent said Iraq actually used chemical or biological weapons.
Before the war, half of those polled in a survey said Iraqis were among the 19 hijackers on Sept. 11, 2001.
But such weapons have not been found in Iraq, and were never used. Most of the Sept. 11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. None were Iraqis.
How could so many people be so wrong about life-and-death information that has dominated news coverage for almost two years?
These poll results startled the pollsters who conducted and analyzed the surveys.
''It's a striking finding,'' said Steve Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, which asked the weapons questions during a May 14-18 poll of 1,256 respondents.
He added, ``Given the intensive news coverage and high levels of public attention, this level of misinformation suggests some Americans may be avoiding having an experience of cognitive dissonance.''
That is, having their beliefs conflict with the facts.
Kull added that the poll's data showed that the mistaken belief that weapons of mass destruction had been found ``is substantially greater among those who favored the war.''
In reality it's not cognitive dissonance, it's the Big Lie , as propounded by Joseph Goebbels, as pounded into the heads of the unthinking, church-going, TV-watching multitudes. I've said before that the difference on Iraq is not between right and left so much as between the informed and the misinformed/disinformed/uninformed and their puppet masters. Those who question and think and those who react. 1984 came late, but it has surely come now.

Iraq 'has three weeks to avoid falling into chaos'
By Patrick Cockburn, 16 June 2003
Iraq needs a transitional administration within three weeks if it is to avoid a descent into chaos, the most prominent Iraqi leader acceptable to all sides told The Independent last night.
Adnan Pachachi, a highly regarded former Iraqi foreign minister who is expected to play a big role in a transitional Iraqi administration, criticised the heavy-handed US sweeps that have cost more than 100 Iraqi lives, calling them "an overreaction''. He said the Americans felt "very vulnerable and afraid'' LINK
PREDICTION: IRAQ 2004 will look like Afganistan 2003. FUBAB. (if you know what I mean).
